Currently, all mission activities at the Church are on-hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
This creative response to the growing number of older people in our communities aims at delivering a safe rendezvous each week, where friends can meet, join in activities to stimulate memory and maintain tactile dexterity.
Afternoon tea is always served and craft opportunities are provided for all who wish to take part.
Heartland Circle is part of a wider development in the Episcopal Churches of Port Glasgow, Kilmacolm and Bridge of Weir that is linked to Alzheimer’s Scotland and Faith in Older People. Members of St Mary’s, Port Glasgow, St Fillan’s, Kilmacolm and St Mary’s, Bridge of Weir all volunteer with transport, catering, and Circle activities each week.
Our Heartland Ministry Team are also part of this initiative in local care homes and church services.
Heartland Circle meets each Thursday at St Mary’s, Port Glasgow at 1.30 pm till 3.30 pm.
